Ugly sound in VCO mode when 1V/oct input is not connected

If you do not want the Ardurack to make horrible noises in VCO mode when the 1V/octave is not connected, for this, you need to mak a "Pull-down". Just add a 1Mohm resistor between the ground and the 1V/octave input.
